A Message from Mr. Ebeling,
Sailor Families,
I am hoping for all of us that the winter weather misses us for the most part! Our playground area would benefit from some drying out of the grass. As the weather gets nicer, I urge teachers to lock in with their students for key learning times while also setting goals to get outside and move and enjoy the weather while we have it. Spring is a great time of year for all!
Report Card Update:
A message was just sent out this week that report cards are ready to view. I would like to just add again that the standards are written so that by the end of the school year a student is proficient (3) or advanced (4) in the learning expectations. We work on a growth mindset model….always working to improve. So, to help, please be sure to review the report card and have conversations about strengths and areas to grow. Lastly, what will be their goal to end the year strong?
Blizzard Game:
Last Friday was a fun time as a BH Sailor community. The Blizzard football team had a record crowd (over 6,000 fans) and came away with a win. Our Early Childhood teacher, Jackie Kordasiewicz, came away with $537 for our school from the dash for cash <Click here for dash video>. Our school also made over $2000 from ticket sales ($10 from each ticket purchased by BH came back to our kids). Purchases in the areas of learning enhancement (360 cameras, 3D printing, STEM materials) are being purchased as we speak for our students. Lastly, after being randomly picked to kick a field goal (or four) in the third quarter, I was happy to make them and give the students something else to cheer about <Click here for the kicking video>. Thank you to my son, Cash, for taking on-field video and K teacher, Lauren Olsen, for taking video from the Aurora box.
Together is Better,
Tony Ebeling, Principal
