A Message from the Principal...
Happy Wednesday, Sailor Families!
I wanted to connect with you briefly to say that I look forward to seeing you all during parent teacher conferences. As a reminder, conferences will be held this Thursday from 4pm-7:30pm and next Tuesday. The book fair will be going on at the same time so be sure to celebrate a successful conference with a new book (or two).
During conferences, members from the PTO playground committee will have a table set up promoting our proposed new playground plan. Since the beginning of Bay Harbor in 2008, the PTO has been putting away money specifically to enhance the playground when the space was made available (house torn down near the current playground). The plan is to build an “inclusive” playground where students in wheelchairs and other special needs can play alongside their peers rather than watch from the side. Additionally, this playground will have more climbing, and core strength activities for all kids. We will be needing to do some heavy fundraising for this project since the price tag will be sizeable due to the need for rubberized flooring, ramps, etc. This project will not just serve Bay Harbor, but the community as a whole. We are VERY excited about kicking off this project and look forward to your partnership throughout.
Again, I look forward to seeing you all soon! Continue to enjoy “the little things”!
Your Partner in Learning,
Tony Ebeling, Principal

As part of our 3rd grade Immigration Unit, all third grade students will be immigrating to the United States through Ellis Island. We are setting up a model of Ellis Island in the Library Media Center. This is the seventh year we have performed this Quest at Bay Harbor, and we need your volunteer help. We are asking Moms, Dads and others in our community to help us with this program. Would you be available on Monday, March 2nd, from 12:30 p.m.-3:00p.m. to help with the Ellis Island Quest? You will be one of the “investigators” on Ellis Island that poses questions to the students and checks over their papers to be certain they have proper identification. We want to be certain that these new immigrant families do not carry disease, and that they have a sponsor or a job that would be beneficial to the United States. Your parts are scripted. All we ask of you is that you enjoy the morning while you help the students pass through Ellis Island. Our goal is to have the students experience first hand the feelings that immigrant families felt as they entered their “new world.” Please CLICK HERE for the form to complete if you could help out! P.S. If you can’t volunteer for the half day, please come and watch for a while. You will enjoy the experience. Thanks for all your help getting your student ready for this day. Third Grade Team Mrs. Bunkelman Mrs. Tetzlaff Interest Fair takes place on Thursday, March 19th...
