A Message from the Principal
Ahoy, Sailor Families,
The “post spring break” week of school is off to a great start! Quarter three is almost over and the rest of the year is going to fly like it always does. The analogy of a sprinter and a marathoner makes sense to me….April thru June will be an extended SPRINT for sure. With that said, at Bay Harbor we continue to stay the course and create awesome learning experiences for our students.
Blizzard Game
We had an unbelievable response for the April 1st Blizzard game. If you are taking part in this activity, PLEASE CHECK YOUR CHILD’s BAG TONIGHT! There will be an envelope with your tickets and directions on where/when to meet. Our school will be participating in the on-field pre-game fan tunnel. The meeting time is no later than 5:40. Again, check the envelope for more information…it is all in there:) Remember that I will be out on the field “Dashing for Cash” at half time. Should be fun!
Referendum
I am not a political person at all...I am in this business to make school AWESOME for kids and for that reason ONLY! It is unfortunate that things do pop up in politics that can make it seem like it’s an “US vs Them” situation. There are signs posted around the town saying “Vote Yes” and there are signs saying, “Vote no”! All of this can seem distracting or put a bad taste in somebody's mouth...which again is highly unfortunate. What I can say is that there is a $4 million referendum. Educate yourself on what it is about, but also educate yourself on why there continues to be so many schools needing to ask for help around the area and state. Asking the community for help does not come without an unbelieveable amount of thought. In HSSD, we care immensely about providing the absolute best for our students and that does come at a cost. We have all come to expect nothing less than that out of our schools and district, but again it comes with a cost. I urge you to learn more by going to this website: http://www.hssd.k12.wi.us/referendum. From there, make your own educated decision on how you feel and get out and vote. That is as close as I can come to politics.
Have a wonderful rest of your week!
