Hello Bay Harbor Families,
The fourth graders have been working diligently on a project based learning opportunity and would like for you and your family to come and support the project. The 3rd annual, Savor the Sailor Flavor is underway. This year, the 4th graders have partnered with Zesty's to create a new flavor of ice cream. On April 23rd from 4:00-6:30, the top four flavors will be offered at Zesty's for a tasting to be voted on by YOU. The winning flavor will be sold the 2nd Tuesday of each month throughout the summer with a portion of the proceeds coming back to Bay Harbor to support more experiences for our students.
Be sure to SAVE THE DATE and come to Zesty's to support our amazing school!

"Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be a Leader" If students are caught "Doing the right thing" showing exemplary leadership qualities, they can receive a Sailor Pride Ticket. They are able to put their ticket into a bucket in the office. Mr. Ebeling will pull some tickets from that bucket every week and announce their name. They get to eat lunch at the V.I.P. lunch table with a friend. Jeff Yalden, a highly regarded mental health motivational speaker, will provide two hours of fun, laughter, and thought on the topics of teen mental health, sexting, drugs and alcohol, social media, self-esteem, and suicide prevention. Jeff Yalden has addressed audiences in all 50 states, 49 countries, and every province in Canada. This TEDx Speaker, Podcast Host, Four-Time Amazon Best Selling Author, New York Times #1 Best Selling Co-Author, Non-Profit Foundation Founder, Mental Health Advocate is passionate about stopping teen suicide and advocating for mental health. Bay Port's Youth Service Learning Team will provide FREE childcare during the event. "SchoolKidz" School Supply Kits Again this year, "SchoolKidz" School Supply Kits will be available to purchase! Look for an order form coming home next week! (You have the option of ordering on line or by completing and returning the paper copy of the order form) SchoolKidz offers pre-packaged, school supply kits filled with the exact school supplies requested by your child's teacher in a personalized box and are delivered to school in late August for you to pick up. These kits are a cost effective and convenient way of purchasing your back-to-school supplies. Skip the lines this summer and order your supplies with SchoolKidz! Every year we get feedback from parents who have purchased these in the past wanting to make sure they are available again. Vice President - Call Lesli Frank for more details Hospitality- This team provides meals for our Bay Harbor Teachers and Staff for parent teacher conferences, welcome back to school as well as Teacher Appreciation Week. The person in charge would also be responsible for setting up the menus and sign up for volunteers, finding someone to set up food or setting up meals themselves and clean up. Scholastic Book Fair- This team ensures that both our Spring and Fall book fairs are successful by coordinating a teacher/student preview day, having teachers create wish lists and promoting the fair. The person in charge is also responsible for setting up the book fair, scheduling volunteers and packing up the book fair. Field Day-This team coordinates a half day event for the Bay Harbor students. This includes planning of lunch, games, treat, etc. over at Idlewild park and fields. The person in charge is also responsible for scheduling the Fire Truck with the Suamico Fire Department, creating a sign up for volunteers, coordinating supplies for games, coordinating set up and clean up of event. Scholastic Book Distribution- The person in charge is responsible for purchasing books that are distributed to each student in the fall and spring. At each event, we read the students a story and then they get to pick out a book that they get to keep. Thank you for your support of our students, staff and school community. PLANNED ABSENCE FORM All absences from school, not related to an illness, injury or family emergency, must be requested in writing at least 48 hours in advance in order for the absence to be excused (family vacation for example). Please complete the Advance Absence Notice for this purpose and return to school. This form will be routed to the student’s teachers for approval signatures.
