A Message from the Principal,
Bay Harbor Sailor Families,
Welcome to 2019! It always takes some getting used to writing the new date. To put things in another perspective, this year’s Kindergartners will be the class of 2031...Wow! With the starting of a new year, comes the hope of something great. In education I look at this time as another reset time. It’s a time to reset and reflect and renew our goals for ourselves as learners and as people. At Bay Harbor, we have a lot of goals that we strive for each day. In the classroom students will be taking time to think about what they have been doing well and what they need to continue to get better at! Our leadership focus for this month is PUT FIRST THINGS FIRST. This is vocabulary that we frequently use around here and in general means that we need to know where we want to go, understand the steps needed to get there, and make sure we focus on the first step. This is a life skill and our students are on their way to being better leaders!
I wish you all a very productive, safe and healthy 2019! Thank you for your continued partnership.
Tony Ebeling, Principal

New Year = New Email addresses for Howard-Suamico School District Staff
Starting December 26, 2018 all HSSD email addresses will end a new extension: @hssdschools.org and our website address will also become www.hssdschools.org. During the transition, former email addresses (ending in @hssd.k12.wi.us) will work for a limited time to receive email. We will be testing the new addresses in early January to double check that emails aren’t caught up in recipients’ spam filters. Stay tuned for updates after the holidays.

Planning Ahead...Lineville Intermediate School Class Choices In March, fourth graders and their parents will learn about the music class options at Lineville: band, chorus, and orchestra. A music class selection for fifth grade must be made by the end of March. In addition, course descriptions will be provided for several other fifth grade classes, and parents will be able to indicate their preferrences. Course descriptions and registration information will be available on March 13th, and selections must be made and the registration completed within two weeks. Parents who desire more information at this time are invited to visit the music class websites, which are linked to the Lineville home page: http://linevillehssd.weebly.com Please have your child dress for the Cold Weather!
Cold weather is here, so please make sure that your child has snow pants, boots, a hat and gloves at school for recess. Waterproof gloves are best. Students will go outside for recess every day unless the outside temperature with wind chill is below zero. Label your Child's Outerwear! Please make sure to label your child's outerwear. As you can imagine, we have many pairs of black boots and snow pants in the building and if they are labeled, we can find the owner if they are found. Thank you! The Student Directory has been Published!
You can order a copy anytime. Click here for the order form to print, complete and return to school with $2.00. Make any checks payable to "Bay Harbor". The Directory will be sent home with your child. Or, you can come in to the office anytime to purchase one. Emergency School Closing and Delays

If schools are closed this will also include the cancellation of extracurricular activities and events in the community pool, unless otherwise announced. PTO IS ON FACEBOOK and TWITTERBudget Season - From your School Board
School Board Role The Board of Education acts as a whole, not as seven individuals, to ensure the success of every child through clear, concise direction to the superintendent as well as rigorous monitoring to ensure accountability. The board charges the superintendent to focus every staff member and all resources toward a single goal - student achievement. The superintendent receives direction from the board and authorizes the staff to implement practices, programs and activities that will provide the best education possible. This approach allows the Board to focus its time and energy on facilitating a successful school district. Board Mission The mission of the Howard-Suamico School District Board of Education is to enact policies and allocate resources to develop all students' full academic potential and to promote their social and emotional growth.
