A Message from Mr. Ebeling,
Blizzard Game
I just want to thank you for the high attendance at last week’s Blizzard game. Bay Harbor had by far the most people there and because of your support and some “Dashing for Cash” we will receive a check back to our school for approximately $1500. Fantastic!!!! We will be deciding as a group how best to use it for our kids. The students have enjoyed watching the video of me running that night and the aftermath of my turf burns from diving in the money:) Thank you again!
Referendum Update
As you know, by a landslide, our referendum did not pass. We had a meeting as a staff this morning to come to terms with what that means. Like stated before, class sizes will be impacted and staff members will be lost, upon other things, to make up for the looming three million dollar deficit. Because of the large “defeat”, and negativity in social media, it can feel like there is a lack of support for the job teachers / schools do. With that said, Bay Harbor is a special place and the people here do an unbelievable job because they are passionate and love kids. If you feel at all called to do so, please think about taking a moment to reach out to an educator and thank them for what they do for your child and family.
Report Cards
On Friday, at 6pm, you will receive a message that report cards are finalized and that you can log into your powerschool account to view it. As a reminder, all standards are written with the goal that the student can attain that skill with a “3” by the end of the school year. Keep focused on growth and having discussions about your child’s learning goals!
