A Message from the Principal...
Sailor Families,
Thank you for your help so far with our Time For Kids Reading Rally. There are a lot of students walking around with penguins around their necks which means free magazines for Bay Harbor. We STILL need your help! If you haven’t done so, please help us by filling out 7-10 addresses in the booklets provided, and have your child return them to school by Thursday. The names and addresses you provide will never be used outside of this ONE TIME mailing. There is no purchase necessary for our school to benefit from the FREE TFK offer. Meadowbrook Elementary is currently in their 2nd year of doing this and they are receiving school-wide free magazines for their efforts.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation,
Tony Ebeling, Principal

Look for your child's artwork printed on stickers along with an Order Form in the Take Home Envelopes today! Bay Harbor students recently created a drawing or painting during art class which was submitted to the Square One Art Company. That company created complimentary stickers of each child's artwork and those stickers will be sent home in the Take Home Envelopes today along with an order form which you can use to order other items with that art work printed on it. Some of the items that can be purchased include a t-shirt, water bottle, coasters, ipad cover, mug, and key chains. These items can be keepsakes or given as gifts! The proceeds of all items purchased will be used to benefit the Art Program at Bay Harbor. Thank you! Below are photos of a couple of the items you can purchase: 3rd Grade Immigration Quest - Tuesday, March 18th
As part of our 3rd grade Immigration Unit, all third grade students will be immigrating to the United States through Ellis Island. We are setting up a model of Ellis Island in the Library Media Center. This is the eighth year we have performed this Quest, and we need your volunteer help!! We are asking Moms, Dads and others in our community to help us with this program. Would you be available on Tuesday, March 18, from 8:30 a.m.-11:15 a.m. to help with the Ellis Island Quest? You will be one of the “investigators” on Ellis Island that poses questions to the students and checks over their papers to be certain they have proper identification. We want to be certain that these new immigrant families do not carry disease, and that they have a sponsor or a job that would be beneficial to the United States. (Your parts are scripted.) Third grade families will be receiving a participation letter and sign up shortly. If you want to participate in the Ellis Island simulation and are not a third grade family, please contact Lydia Storby at [email protected] or 662-8811. Snowshoeing at Bay Harbor
On March 19th, 20th or 21st students in Mr. Vanden Hoogen’s physical education classes will have an opportunity to experience snowshoeing. This activity will allow students to enjoy the outdoors, be physically active and possibly try a new adventure for the first time. In preparation for this activity please send your child to school on the day of their event with appropriate winter clothing, including hat, gloves, boots, jacket and snow pants. Students who forget their gear will be allowed to call home or borrow from the lost and found. Click here to see the schedule for when your child’s class will be snowshoeing. If you are interested in volunteering for this activity contact Mr. Vanden Hoogen for details. Chad Vanden Hoogen [email protected] Love 2 Run Training Program- Coming Soon!
