A Message from Mr. Ebeling,
The final week!
I have never been one to count the days….rather, I make the days count! It has been another tremendous school year at Bay Harbor! Thank you for your continued trust and partnership as we partner to ensure that “our students have the knowledge and skills to be successful in a changing world.” Our final newsletter will be next week! Please be sure to watch for final updates and reminders at that time.
Enjoy!
Summer Literacy Screener Information
We are excited to announce a new opportunity for our elementary school students. As you know, the better we know our learners, the more we can provide meaningful learning experiences for them. Therefore, all kindergarten through fourth grade students’ reading development will be assessed prior to the start of the school year. During the individual 30 minute appointment, each student will meet with his/her 2016-17 classroom teacher to begin building a relationship with each other and to start the literacy screening process for the school year.
The screening window will be August 15th - 26th, 2016. Teachers will set their own schedule during this two-week window (with some possible meeting times before). Prior to this window, parents will receive communication from each elementary principal with an explanation of how to sign up for appointments. Sign-ups will be available starting August 4th, 2016, along with an electronic teacher placement notification.
This new procedure will give teachers vital information in order to plan literacy instruction for your child and maximize learning opportunities in the classroom.

Thank you Bay Harbor Volunteers!
Last Friday morning many of you drove by our "Donut Stand" to pick up a donut and coffee or juice on your way to work or when you dropped off your kids. It was our way to say "Thank You" to our wonderful volunteers who have helped in many different ways throughout this school year. We appreciate all you do to support our school! Look for the Donut Stand to return next year! |
