A Message from Mr. Ebeling,
Sailor Families,
Happy Valentine’s and finally it’s a 40 degrees day! The kids are excited for their classroom parties at the end of the day. Thank you for all that you do to support the classrooms and our school through donation of items, money and/or your time! All of it is appreciated.
Winter Olympics
Last Friday, we had our own opening ceremonies. It was an exciting time that was made even more special because of a video message sent from US Snowboarder and friend of mine, Nick Baumgartner. We made him a video and sent it to him, too. He races tonight in the boardercross event. You can watch it live at 8 pm by going to the OLYMPIC WEBSITE. It will also be on NBC, but the times are not easy to find. I hope you were able to catch Shaun White’s gold medal halfpipe snowboard run last night. It definitely was exciting! The picture below is Shaun white (on left) and Nick (right) during the opening ceremonies!

We will be doing some cool things at BH over the next couple of weeks to help celebrate the olympics: Tracking medals, Guest speakers (speed skaters, hockey players, curling, biathlon), and doing STEM activities in our library learning space.

Did You Know? Lisa Botsford [email protected] Referendum Update The Board of Education unanimously approved a resolution on an operational referendum for the April 3, 2018 spring election ballot. This referendum differs from the April, 2017 referendum, in large part, because of the duration. The Board listened to the community through surveys and the Community Task Force Committee. The feedback was clear that the recurring nature of the April, 2017 referendum was not acceptable. The 5 year duration on the current referendum allows the district to address the immediate needs of class size, compensation, and facilities maintenance. As the Board works to address its financial challenges, we are committed to providing as much information as possible. For more information about the referendum, please visit www.hssd.k12.wi.us/referendum. If you have any questions for the Board of Education, please reach out to your board member listed in this article.
