A Message from Mr. Ebeling,
Bay Harbor Sailor Families,
Great Start!
In my sixth year as Bay Harbor Principal, it is my biggest pleasure to be able to see all of the planning and preparation that goes into a new year be kicked off and the positive impact it has on kids- Truly blessed to be in this position at this school and surrounded by wonderful people. It’s has also been exciting to see a group of students move from K through 4th! What I can say from that is, “DON’T FRET!” Students develop at different times and every week changes for them. I am always amazed at what these students become by the time they are in 4th grade.
Beginning of the year
It’s all about relationships! In the beginning of the year there is a heavy emphasis on building a strong classroom learning environment. We are like a family at BH and when kids feel safe and comfortable, they are more likely to be excited for school and learn. The motto is: “You need to get to a child’s heart before you get to their head!” So, we start “slow” to move fast.
Leadership Habits
Our 7 Habits of leadership kick-off was fantastic. The kids really understand the habits and will be working hard to practice them and live them so that it truly becomes...A HABIT! What I really like about this as a focus is that it is a life skill and not just an elementary skill. *To read more about the 7 Habits, CLICK HERE.
Morning Drop Off / Afternoon Pick-up:
Students may enter the building as early as 8:20 if they are taking breakfast, or 8:30 when the first bell rings. School officially begins at 8:45. PLEASE be sure to not bring kids to school earlier than this as we do not have supervision for them. The end of the day bell rings at 3:25.
If at any point you are coming into the building with or without your child, please be sure to park your car in the parking lot. We cannot leave vehicles unattended in the front of the school...even for a short time. Lastly, when dropping off, PLEASE BE SURE THAT KIDS LEAVE OUT THE PASSENGER SIDE and onto the sidewalk. Safety is top priority.
Partnership
My sign-off is often, “Thank you for your partnership” or “Together is Better”. I say that repetitively because unless we are a team, our students will not be able to be the best they can be. Parent+Student+Teacher+School= Success. Our PTO is a great way to be involved at any level you would like to be. I want to say THANK YOU to our wonderful PTO for providing BH with so many things that we would not be able to have or do with our regular school budget. Their trust and partnership is appreciated. Our meeting on Tuesday night was fantastic!

After 50 years of competitions, the NFL has decided to discontinue its Punt, Pass & Kick program to focus on other initiatives. Due to the overwhelming popularity of this program, Bay Harbor will once again host our annual Punt - Pass - Kick competition! The event will be completed during your child’s scheduled physical education class throughout the week of September 17th. All boys and girls ages 6 and up are eligible to participate. Each Student will be given one pass, one punt and one kick off a football tee during the contest. All three scores will be combined for a total distance. Distance and Accuracy are important! There will be 1st – 3rd place winners in each category (6/7 Boys, 6/7 Girls, 8/9 Boys, 8/9 Girls, 10/11 Boys, 10/11 Girls).
