Wishing you and your family a safe and happy holiday season.
See you in 2018!
See you in 2018!
A Message from Mr. Ebeling,
Though we are not at the “halfway” point in our school year, I always look at this upcoming holiday break as a good time to reflect on what we have done so far and then to plan for what we will do in the months following. I am very happy with our school community as a whole and I hope you are too. There are wonderful things happening everyday in our building that are worth celebrating.
Overall, there is always something very special about this time of year. There is a spirit of joy and sharing that prevails during the holiday season. One of the best parts about this time of the year is the time we get to spend with our families. Remember a few of these things as you embark on the new year:
Try to live this season through the eyes of your child. It’s a magical time!
See you next year!

One of the best parts about this time of the year is the time we get to spend with our families. Remember a few of these things as you embark on the new year:
- Remember people, not things, matter most.
- Respect our children’s individual differences and appreciate each child’s unique capabilities.
- When we think good thoughts about our children, tell them.
- Don’t stress over the little things...make sure you are doing things that matter the most.
- Laugh a lot and Play even more. The kids love to see you be like them!

AMERICAN NINJA WARRIOR
Bay Harbor was excited to host a real American Ninja Warrior, Drew Knapp. A 2013 graduate of Bay Port, Drew dazzled the BH crowd with feats of strength as he flew around our homemade obstacle course. CLICK HERE to view the amazing video. Drew gained his inspiration from his younger brother Dalton who battled cancer as a child. Dalton also made it on the American Ninja Warrior show as well.
Drew and Dalton are opening a Ninja Warrior gym in DePere called “Warrior Jungle”! It is for all ages and will be something amazing for kids. We thank Drew for coming to BH and for his inspirational words for kids, “Persevere, set your goals high, and follow your dreams”!

Please Supervise your Children Parents we need your help! When attending athletic events at Bay Port High School, we ask that you please supervise your children. For the safety of the participants and the fans, we ask that your children do NOT run around in the field house or hallways before, during or after the games. We greatly appreciate your assistance. Thank You! From your School Board
Did You Know? As the Board of Education continues to review the Community Task Force recommendations, we are reminded of their work and insight into our district. The Task Force members expressed surprise at several facts about the Howard Suamico School District. For example, did you know the HSSD tax levy remains at $9.19 per $1,000 of property value for the third straight year; this is well below the state average of $9.97 per $1,000 in 2016-17. This fact demonstrates the Board’s policy of fiscal accountability to the taxpayers of our district. For more information about the Community Task Force report, please view www.hssd.k12.wi.us/referendum. If you have any questions for the Board of Education, please reach out to your team member located in this article. ON LINE FORMS For your convenience, below are links to some frequently used forms that you can print off at home, complete, and return to school if the need ever arises. MEDICATION FORMS
PLANNED ABSENCE FORM All absences from school, not related to an illness, injury or family emergency, must be requested in writing at least 48 hours in advance in order for the absence to be excused (family vacation for example). Please complete the Advance Absence Notice for this purpose and return to school. This form will be routed to the student’s teachers for approval signatures. Speak Up Research Project Survey
The Speak Up Research Project polls K-12 students, parents and educators about the role of technology for learning in and out of school and represents the largest collection of authentic, unfiltered stakeholder voice on digital learning. It is important that the Howard - Suamico School District students, parents, staff and community participate to assist our district in acquiring information for future planning needs. The Speak Up 2017 online surveys open October 16, 2017 through January 19, 2018. Please read more at Speak Up 2017 Flyer.
