Fun stuff! HSEA Scholarships
The Teachers of Howard-Suamico Have Scholarships to Offer Their Students. The teachers are offering financial support to K-12 students for summer 2014 camps in academics, technology, or fine arts. Their mission is to support as many applicants as we can with partial payment. The amount awarded will depend upon the total cost of a camp and the number of qualified applicants. Priority will be given to new applicants. Application must be received by May 2nd. For more information email [email protected] Click here for more info Head Lice
Head lice are the nuisance of schools everywhere; they’ve been around for years and are not going away soon. As a reminder, head lice are spread by head to head contact, so please make it a practice to watch for signs of itching or scratching heads, and inspect your child’s hair regularly for signs of head lice. District policy (8450a) pertaining to head lice can be found under Administrative Policies on our district website's Parent/Student menu. Lice information is also available on the www.cdc.gov website and the http://hssdsn.weebly.com/ click on the communicable disease tab and view steps for treating head lice. Bay Harbor Field Day is Friday, June 6th! Volunteers are Needed!
In the Take Home Envelopes today is a "Field Day Volunteer Form". Please check this out and consider being a part of our end-of-the-school-year celebration! Please return this form to school by May 23rd. Thank you! Nola Oberhofer and Rich Glen - Field Day co-chairs Order NED Yo Yo's! WE EXTENDED THE DUE DATE FOR ORDERS TO THURSDAY, MAY 1ST!
The yo yo's will be sent home with your child late this week or early next week. Students will also receive a free DVD which has instructions on to how do tricks! You can order your child's school supplies through "School Kidz!"
Once again, you will have the opportunity to take advantage of an easy and convenient way to purchase school supplies for next year. "School Kidz" is a program that supplies you with a kit that contains all of the supplies listed on our "school supply lists" that are put together by our teachers for each grade level. These kits are competitively priced and take the hassle out of shopping for these items on your own. Order forms will be going home in next weeks Take Home Envelopes. The kits will be delivered to school in mid August in time for you to pick them up to get ready for the start of another school year. Many parents who have ordered these in the past ask for them every year. It is a great convenience! Bay Harbor 3rd and 4th Grade Track Meet, Wednesday, May 14th 12:00 - 3:00- Volunteers needed!
