Bay Harbor will be giving examinations on the following dates: Grade Level 4 - TEST NAME: WKCE (Wisconsin Knowledge and Concepts Examination), CONTENT OF TEST: Science and Social Studies DATES FOR TEST: October 28th and 29th We appreciate and rely on your help for our success. It is very important for your child to be in school on these days. Please arrange appointments for your child around these dates. Good sleep and proper nutrition are proven to maximize student performance on such tests. Please encourage your child to do his/her best work. WKCE practice test items can be viewed online at Click here Saving Box Tops and Campbell Soup Labels for recess equipment
Each year the PTO collects thousands of Box Tops and Campbell's Soup Labels to purchase kick balls, jump ropes, sidewalk chalk and more for the playground to be used by students during recess times. Without these labels, the amount of equipment available to use during recess would be very limited. By saving your Box Tops and Campbell Soup Labels you enable the PTO to replenish these supplies during the year. Please keep clipping the Box Tops and Campbell’s Soup Labels and then send them to school. Thank you for your support! Items to Clip and Collect to help support Bay Harbor!

PTO Donation Drive-
Your participation is key......to our school being fundraising free!!! Please help us reach our financial goal of raising $4,000, and our family participation goal of 50%. You can complete the little pink PTO donation slip that was attached to a white envelope in your open house packet of information and return it with your donation. While we recommend $40/family, we realize that might not be possible for everyone. Please give what you are comfortable with, as every dollar counts and every donation matters. By donating, you are ensuring the success of this years PTO, as well as ensuring our school remains fundraising free....and that means we won't be asking you to sell wrapping paper or pizzas, etc. Click here if you misplaced the donation form. Thank you for supporting our school! Junior Achievement Volunteers needed for Bay Harbor!
Want to have an impact on the children at Bay Harbor? Bay Harbor’s Junior Achievement program is scheduled to start mid-October to early November, but only if volunteers can be found for the classroom programs. Volunteers are still needed in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade. The time commitment is short but impactful! Volunteers visit a classroom and do an activity with the students once a week, for 5 weeks. The volunteer and the teacher determine the class visit time/dates. Each activity is 40 minutes and all materials are prepared for you. Junior Achievement (JA) is a partnership between the business community, educators and volunteers — all working together to inspire young people to dream big and reach their potential. JA is empowering students to own their economic success. If you are interested in learning more about Junior Achievement or volunteering for a class at Bay Harbor, please contact Jennifer Maier, Brown County Sr Program Manager, 920-336-1444 [email protected]. Interesting in Volunteering or chaperoning on a Field Trip?
Parents/guardians interested in volunteering for school events or on field trips are required to have an approved background check on file and be registered in the districts on line volunteer system. Since Background checks can take up to 4 weeks to process, it is important to get this done early. Special note to parents/guardians of 4th Graders – if you plan on going on the 4th grade class field trip to Madison on June 8th, please get your background check done now so you are all set to go. To complete the on line volunteer profile and background check forms, click here to get to the link. Click on the "sign up" button to get started. If you need assistance, please call the school office. Hearing Screening at Bay Harbor
The Brown County Health Department staff will be coming to Bay Harbor Elementary to provide Hearing and Vision Screenings for the designated grades and other requested students. The Hearing Screening will occur on Monday, October 13, 2014. All 5K and 1st graders, any new students to the district, and any students requested by teachers or parents/guardians will be tested. If your child does not pass the initial hearing screening, a rescreen will be performed in four to six weeks to determine if there is a persistent hearing problem. If they still do not pass, a letter will be sent home indicating the importance of following up with a physician and/or audiologist. The screening is not a substitute for a regular examination by your physician but is meant to identify persistent hearing loss in children and bring it to the attention of parents/guardians and teachers. IMPORTANT NOTE: If you DO NOT want your child screened for hearing and/or vision YOU MUST contact your child’s school at least one week prior to the screening date to have your child removed from the screening list. One more volunteer is needed for our upcoming Vision Screening on Thursday, November 13th from approximately 8:30 until 10:30.
If you would be able to volunteer your time in the morning please call Sally in the Bay Harbor Office at 662-8802. Thank you. Lost and Found items are growing!
There are lots of "found" jackets hanging on hooks across from our playground doors. They were found on our playground and brought in hoping to find their rightful owner. If your child is missing a jacket or something else, please come in the office and ask to check out the lost and found areas. Child's eyeglasses found at Bay Harbor. A pair of black glasses with a green strip around the edge were found at Bay Harbor. If they could be your child's please call the Bay Harbor office
