will be open for input this Wednesday, October 2. We are asking students,
staff and parents to participate in Speak Up and share your ideas about
technology in schools to promote better learning. Thanks to the responses
we received from you, we were able to put over 700 iPads and 1300 Mac Book Air
devices into the hands of our students. Look for this logo on your school
website to participate in the survey. The class in
each school with the most students participating in the 2013 Speak Up 2013
Survey beginning October 2 will win a popcorn party in December with a group
photo featured on Facebook and in the next district newsletter. Click here for the survey.

Two paramedics from County Rescue Services (Bob Madigan and Eric Nellis) came in to read to Miss Madigan's 2nd grade class for "Read Across America Day". They read to the class, shared some stories, answered some questions, and the students got the opportunity to walk through a rescue squad as well as get some safety advice. It was a great opportunity for the students to engage with people in the community. Thank you County Rescue for this opportunity! Fall Parent/Teacher Conferences coming up Soon!
Thursday, October 24th 4:00- 7:30, Tuesday, October 29th 4:00- 7:30, Friday, October 31st am 8:00-11:30. A Confirmation Slip will be coming home next week in the Take Home Envelopes. Our "Specialists" will be available to meet with parents at Bay Harbor on some of the days of the conferences. Click here to see their schedule. Giving Tree - Collecting Non-Perishables Our school will be collecting non-perishables for the Giving Tree during Parent/Teacher Conferences (The evenings of Thursday, October 24th and Tuesday, October 29th, and also the morning on Thursday, October 31st). You can drop off your donations in the bins located near the office in the main hallway of the school. Thank you! Heavenly Hat Parade - This Friday, October 11th! Students can donate $1.00 to wear their favorite hat in our parade around the school on Friday morning. Bruiser, from the Green Bay Blizzards will also be coming to school. Not only that, but a coach from the Blizzards will be coming to shave his head in honor of all those fighting cancer...And not only that we have another surprise for the students! Please send $1.00 to school with your child in an envelope or ziploc bag marked "Heavenly Hats" by Thursday, October 10th.
All proceeds will go to the Heavenly Hats Foundation. Thank you for supporting this cause. "READ" T-Shirt order forms - due date is tomorrow!
There was an order from in last weeks Take Home Envelope. (you can also click here to print the order form if you misplaced it). These T-shirts are worn on the 20th of each month to promote reading -"Read Each And every Day!" (note: if the 20th would fall on a weekend, they are worn on either the 19th or 21st - check the newsletter under "Upcoming Dates of Importance" for the date to wear this T-shirt). Student Directories In the Take Home Envelopes last week was an orange Student Directory Permission Slip. We need this slip back in order to publish your child(ren)s information in the directory. (If you have misplaced it, you can click here to print out another form to complete). This Student Directory will be published soon and they will be available for purchase at a cost of $2.00, with the proceeds going to our Student Council. More information will follow. Bay Harbor PTO
