Penny Wars - Next Week!
May 16th - May 20th.
Proceeds will help send all Bay Harbor students to SAGA Gymnastics!
Bay Harbor’s Annual Penny Wars are back!
Next week, May 16th - 20th, students can bring in pennies to add to their grade level buckets total. Pennies count as positive points. Students can also bring in silver coins and dollar bills to put in the buckets of other grade levels. Silver coins and dollar bills count as negative points and are deducted from that buckets total. The grade level that has the most positive points at the end of the week will receive a special treat! All other grade levels will receive something as well for participating. The money raised will go towards sending all students to SAGA on June 6th and 7th. So, start checking under those couch cushions and bring in your pennies the week of May 16th-May 20th!

Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be a Leader! Congratulations to our "Sailor Pride Ticket" winners this week! Jessica, Haillie, Julia, Dylan, Riley, Stella, Ali, James, and Grace Safety and Protective Behaviors have been a huge part of our discussions in Lifeskills class for the last couple of months. With summer right around the corner, it is so critical to review basic safety with your children. Students did an awesome job helping each other remember various aspects of water, fire, bike, stranger, and home safety. We also reviewed the “Swimsuit Rule” which focuses on the fact that our bodies belong to us and no one should ever make us feel uncomfortable, sad, or scared in any way related to our bodies, with the exception of trusted adults helping us stay clean and healthy, like doctors and parents. I also found out that many students did not know their home address or a phone number to reach a parent, so that is another very important thing to discuss at home in the event of an emergency. The motto learned was, “Check first before you go anywhere with anyone, and if you can’t check first, the answer is no!” If you have any questions, concerns, or needs over the summer months, please feel free to reach out to me through email at [email protected]. Enjoy the sunny, warm days ahead! By: Becky Wright, 2nd- 4th Grade School Counselor Changes to Contact Information???
Please contact the school office at 662-8800 when an address, phone number, email address or other contact information changes. It is important to keep student records accurate in case of an emergency situation. It also ensures accurate communication between school and home. Planning a Move?
Please notify the school office (662-8800) as soon as possible if your child will be transferring out of Bay Harbor or the district. ******************************** Bay Harbor Playground Expansion Project This QR code will take you directly to our “Go Fund Me” page - or Click here. "School Kidz" School Supply Kits Available to order Now! Order forms were sent home last Wednesday in the Take Home Envelopes. These school supply kits contain all of the school supplies requested by our teachers for each grade level. They are packed in a nice box like the one shown and will be shipped to our school in mid August. Take advantage of this easy and convenient opportunity. Summers are short and busy for everyone and you can cross one thing off of your "to do" list this summer. Parents who have purchased these kits in previous years have commented on how much they love them and how they save them time and gas! They look forward to ordering them every year. Order forms are due back to the office by Wednesday, May 25th. If you have any questions, please call Sally in the office at 662-8802. Popsicle Sale to benefit JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)
On Friday, May 13th we will be selling popsicles for a dollar in honor of Allie Brosteau in support of JDRF. Allie was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes 5 years ago and has been a student at Bay Harbor since Kindergarten. All proceeds will be donated to JDRF on behalf of Allie! Bring your dollar this Friday and let’s chill for Ms. Allie! Box Tops Contest - going on now!
Last Wednesday, orange contest sheets were sent home in the Take Home Envelopes. Glue or tape 10 unexpired Box Tops onto the flyer to participate in the contest. We are so close to meeting our goal of earning $2,000. The classroom that collects the most Box Tops will win a summer treat party. Contest deadline is May 25, 2016. The winning classroom will be announced the following week. Note: Box Tops that are expired or missing the product code will not count. Bonus Box Tops should be sent in separately and not attached to the collection sheets. Have more than 10 box tops? Additional sheets are available to print - click here. Box Tops can also be placed in a baggie/envelope labeled with child's teacher and grade level. Thank You! Dawn Brandt, coordinator Field Day Coming Soon - Friday, June 3rd
Another volunteer form will be in the Take Home Envelopes today! Calling all Bay Harbor Families, WE NEED YOUR HELP! We are looking for more volunteers to help us with the Field Day activities for 1-2 hours on Friday, June 3rd. We are looking for people to assist with lunch, games, and distribute the end of the day treat between 10:45 AM and 2:30 PM. If you are not familiar with Field Day, it is an afternoon long event, running from lunch time until the end of the day. The students have a picnic lunch, head over to Idlewild Park for various games and finish the day off with a cool treat. This is a SUPER FUN end-of-the-school year event for ALL students, but it takes many volunteers to make this day a success! If you are interested (and even if you can’t commit to an entire hour), please contact Rich Glen at [email protected], or you can also click here to print the form to complete and return to school. Thank you! Student End of Year Library Schedule
