Dear Sailor Families,
Our year is off to a fantastic start! The Bay Harbor staff is dedicated to ensure a positive learning environment for each student. Because of that, they put every effort into making each moment in school memorable. I want to thank all of you for supporting your children and your continued partnership. Many great things will happen this year as we set sail for a “transforming” year.
My big focus to start this year is on building relationships with students, staff, and families as well as to keep a safe/positive learning environment for all. To do this, we are teaching consistent behavior expectations that fall under three categories: Be Safe, Be Respectful, and Be Responsible. We will acknowledge positive behaviors as well as give students the ability to correct poor behaviors. Behavior, like Math and Reading, is something that needs to be taught and retaught.
As we get further into the academic swing of things, now is a great time to begin solidifying at home procedures for homework and bed. Find what works best for your child and your family. Stick with this routine and enjoy the process together. As a new father of a “school-ager”, my family is faced with the same reality that school does not end at 3:20pm. Learning can happen at anytime and anyplace! Enjoy the process and thank you again for all that you do. Bay Harbor is a great place!
Your partner in education,
Tony Ebeling, Principal
