Field Day - Friday, June 5th
Volunteers Needed!
Calling all Bay Harbor Families - WE NEED YOUR HELP! We are looking for volunteers to help us with Field Day activities for 1-2 hours on June 5th. We are looking for people to assist with lunch, games, and to distribute the end of the day treat between 10:45 AM and 2:30 PM.
If you are not familiar with Field Day, it is a fun filled event to celebrate the end of another school year. This event runs from lunch time until the end of the day. The students eat a picnic lunch and then head over to Idlewild Park for various games and finish the day off with a cool treat. This is a SUPER FUN event for ALL students but it takes many volunteers to make this day a success!
If you are interested (and even if you can’t commit to an entire hour), please fill out the Field Volunteer Form that was sent home with your child in the Take Home Envelopes last week. Please return it to the school office by May 22nd. If you do not receive the form and are interested in volunteering, please contact Rich Glen at [email protected] or you can click here to print off the form and send it in to Bay Harbor.

Students today across the country spend an immense amount of time staying connected through the various forms of social media. Most social media networks require users to be at least 13 years old, so make sure to check the user policy of each website before creating an account. In order to keep kids safe online, here are some tips from Common Sense Media on how you can be protected when using social media. Social media tips to share with kids: ● Use privacy settings. Privacy settings aren't foolproof, but they can be helpful. Take the time to learn how privacy settings work on your kids' favorite sites and apps, and teach your kids how to control the information they make public or private. Encourage them to check privacy settings regularly, since sites' policies often change. ● Tell your kids to think before they post. Remind them that everything can be seen by a vast, invisible audience (otherwise known as friends-of-friends-of-friends), and, once something's online, it's hard to take back. ● Be a friend and follower. Each family will have different rules, but, especially for younger kids, it's a good idea for parents to have access to their kids' pages, at least at first, to be sure that what's being posted is appropriate. Parents can help keep their children from doing something they'll regret later. ● Keep private information private. Don't share your home address or other sensitive information online. ● Be respectful of others. Kids may use social media to act out because they feel anonymous and that their actions are consequence-free. Make sure they understand that the Internet is a giant community that works best when everyone respects each other. For more information about protecting yourself on social media, talk to your child’s library media/technology integration specialist. If you would like to learn more about how to keep your child safe online please visit, Common Sense Media. PTO Minutes

We are looking for a volunteer (or two) to help stuff the Take Home Envelopes on Wednesday mornings for the next school year. If you would be interested, please call the Bay Harbor office at 662-8800. Box Tops Update:
We have collected $1,770 worth of Box Tops so far this school year. This is a great time to turn them in so we can reach our goal of $2,000. Many have an expiration date of June 1, so please get them sent to school before Memorial Day so our school gets credit for them. I will be mailing our final shipment of the school year to Box Tops for Education at the end of May. Keep collecting Box Tops, Labels for Education, Milk Moola milk caps, Prairie Farms milk caps, Loaves for Learning UPCs, and Tyson labels over the summer to get our next school year off to a great start. Thank You for helping to support our school! Dawn Brandt 7th Annual A Pair and A Spare drive
Monday, April 20 - Friday, May 15, 2015 We are asking for your help in supporting A Pair & A Spare: Brown County’s Undercover Challenge, an annual collection for new socks and new underwear. Collection boxes are located at each school within the Howard-Suamico School District. New socks and new underwear are two of the most requested, and least donated, clothing items. All donated items are distributed to Brown County Homeless and Housing Coalition agencies, shelters, and organizations that serve those in need. A Pair & A Spare: Brown County’s Undercover Challenge is a unique way to help those in need, by providing a few essential clothing items that will mean so much to the recipients Thank you! 4th Grade Music Attention 4th grade parents!
