Please read the articles below about what we collect and how you can support Bay Harbor!
Saving Box Tops and Campbell Soup Labels for recess equipment
Each year the PTO collects thousands of Box Tops and Campbell's Soup Labels to purchase kick balls, jump ropes, sidewalk chalk and more for the playground to be used by students during recess times. Without these labels, the amount of equipment available to use during recess would be very limited. By saving your Box Tops and Campbell Soup Labels you enable the PTO to replenish these supplies during the year. Please keep clipping the Box Tops and Campbell’s Soup Labels and then send them to school. Thank you for your support! Items to Clip and Collect to help support Bay Harbor!

Want to have an impact on the children at Bay Harbor? Bay Harbor’s Junior Achievement program is scheduled to start mid-October to early November, but only if volunteers can be found for the classroom programs. Volunteers are still needed in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade. The time commitment is short but impactful! Volunteers visit a classroom and do an activity with the students once a week, for 5 weeks. The volunteer and the teacher determine the class visit time/dates. Each activity is 40 minutes and all materials are prepared for you. Junior Achievement (JA) is a partnership between the business community, educators and volunteers — all working together to inspire young people to dream big and reach their potential. JA is empowering students to own their economic success. If you are interested in learning more about Junior Achievement or volunteering for a class at Bay Harbor, please contact Jennifer Maier, Brown County Sr Program Manager, 920-336-1444 [email protected]. The Brown County Health Department staff will be coming to Bay Harbor Elementary to provide Hearing and Vision Screenings for the designated grades and other requested students. The Hearing Screening will occur on Monday, October 13, 2014. All 5K and 1st graders, any new students to the district, and any students requested by teachers or parents/guardians will be tested. If your child does not pass the initial hearing screening, a rescreen will be performed in four to six weeks to determine if there is a persistent hearing problem. If they still do not pass, a letter will be sent home indicating the importance of following up with a physician and/or audiologist. The screening is not a substitute for a regular examination by your physician but is meant to identify persistent hearing loss in children and bring it to the attention of parents/guardians and teachers. IMPORTANT NOTE: If you DO NOT want your child screened for hearing and/or vision YOU MUST contact your child’s school at least one week prior to the screening date to have your child removed from the screening list. One more volunteer is needed for our upcoming Vision Screening on Thursday, November 13th from approximately 8:30 until 10:30.
If you would be able to volunteer your time in the morning please call Sally in the Bay Harbor Office at 662-8802. Thank you. Speak Up 2014 launches next Monday. We need you!
