A Message from the Principal,
Sailor Families,
We have moved into the “halfway” point of the school year. This means that there has been a lot learned, but still a lot more learning to go! This time of year is a GREAT time of year for students to reflect on their strengths as a person and a learner as well as to reflect on the areas of growth they have in those areas. There are assessments that take place to help aide in these reflections and then report cards and conferences to help share that news. Thank you for your continued partnership.
Report Cards
On Friday, at 6:00pm, you will receive a message from me with a link to access the 2nd Quarter report cards. In that communication, there will be information about some small changes made to the grading of “21st Century Skills” as we shift to our HSSD Graduate Profile which is part of our updated strategic plan. Be on the lookout for that communication on Friday.
BH Get Fit For Kids
I want to say THANK YOU for all of your support with our first annual “BH Get Fit For Kids” event which will actually take place on the 27th and 28th with an assembly on the 31st. Your donations were supporting the Child Life Center at St. Vincent Hospital. I am humbled and appreciative of the giving nature of our students and families of this school. I really like the shift we are doing towards doing good things for people because we care and not for awards or trinkets. The shift towards intrinsic motivations is difficult at an elementary age but will serve long-term benefits. Thank you again...the donations have been plentiful and will continue to be accepted through Friday, January 31st.
Have a great rest of your week,
Tony Ebeling, Principal

Bay Harbor’s Get Fit for Kids
A Fun Day of activity to benefit HSHS St. Vincent’s Children's Hospital and the Child Life Program
In January Bay Harbor is holding our first ever Get Fit for Kids event! The goal of Get Fit for Kids is to have fun, increase personal fitness and encourage community service. Your generosity will provide hope and healing to sick or injured children at our local Green Bay children’s hospital.

More than 8,500 children and their families utilize this valuable service each year.
The Child Life program is offered free of charge and is supported exclusively through donations received by people like you who are inspired to help local children and families in need.

December 2019 Profile of a Graduate: Communication A recent 2018 Job Outlook Survey found that only 41% of employers ranked current students as proficient in oral/written communications which is one reason why the HSSD believes communication is a critical element in the success of our students regardless of post high school graduation plans. Communication is an important component of our District Profile of a Graduate.
