A Message from the Principal
Hello Sailor Families,
Though the freezing temps have seemed to slow down the shipping industry, our Harbors at Bay Harbor have been open for learning and for fun. Recently we were lucky to have Nick Baumgartner come to our school to speak to the students. Nick is an Olympic snowboarder (2010 Vancouver) and X-Games Gold and Silver medalist. Nick is currently awaiting the call to find out whether or not he will be headed to the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi...there is one spot left on a 4 man team. CLICK HERE to watch the Channel 5 newscast about Nick which includes video of him speaking at Bay Harbor.
Nick and I played football together at Northern Michigan University for a year. He is from a small town in the Upper Peninsula and spoke to the kids about setting high goals, not quitting until you reach them, and always being a person of good character! It was a great message and fun to have an Olympian at our school.
Nick will be boarding at the X-games in Aspen, Colorado on Saturday. The race will be televised on ABC at 3pm. Everyone at Bay Harbor wishes him the best of luck as he seeks another X-Games medal and a shot at the 2014 Winter Olympics.

2nd Quarter Life Skills Lessons
Hello Parents! The students in 2nd through 4th grade focused on many positive lessons during second quarter in Life Skills! We had wonderful topics to focus on including: life’s simple rules, healthy choices, bucket filling, and empathy,
Jen Woulf, Bay Harbor School Counselor Father/Daughter Dance - Friday, April 4th
Our upcoming Father / Daughter dance is scheduled for April 4. The first planning meeting for this event is on Monday, February 10 at 7pm. We would love to have some new faces and new ideas to help plan this great family fun event. If you are interested in attending the meeting, please email Sandi Beaver at [email protected] or text/call her at 920-217-8296 for meeting place and any questions we can answer. We are also looking for the event photographer. If you or someone you may know is looking to hone your skills and make a little money we would love to talk to you! Please contact Chris Lammers at [email protected] if interested.Thank you in advance for your help. Sincerely, The PTO Family Fun Committee "A Pair and a Spare"
Please consider taking part in the 6th annual “A Pair & A Spare: Brown County’s Undercover Challenge”, an annual collection for new socks and new underwear. All of the donated items are distributed to more than 20 Wisconsin agencies and organizations that serve those in need throughout Brown County. New socks and new underwear are two of the most requested, and least donated, clothing items at locations serving low income residents. A Pair & A Spare: Brown County’s Undercover Challenge is a unique way to help those in need by providing a few essential clothing items that will mean so much to the recipients. Just imagine how you would feel if you didn’t have socks and underwear…it’s not something you would think about, but there is a huge need and with community support, this project will be a success! There is a collection box in our main hallway for these items. Thank you! Attention 4th Grade Parents and Guardians: Lineville Intermediate School Music Choices In March parents of 4th graders will be asked to choose a 5th grade music class. Course descriptions and registration information will be available the week of March 10, and parents and students will learn about band, chorus, and orchestra classes at Lineville. A selection must be made and the registration completed within two weeks. Parents who desire more information at this time are invited to visit the music class websites, which are linked to the Lineville home page: http://lineville.hssd.k12.wi.us Outdoor Recess Winter Guidelines Reminder
The district policy for outdoor recess states that if the temperature is above zero with or without windchill, students will go outside. Indoor recess will be held when the actual temperature or windchill temperature is zero or below. Please have your child prepared to go out every day as often times we may be indoors in the morning, but will go out for the afternoon recess when the temperature rises. 4K and 5K Registration Nearing!
