A Message from Mr. Ebeling:
Veteran’s Day
To all of our Bay Harbor Sailor Family members who served in the military or currently serve in the military, I would like to extend a special THANK YOU for your leadership, courage, commitment and dedication to our country. We are safer today because of you! Thank you for your service.
Report Cards
Can you believe that the first quarter of the year is already over? Report cards will be coming out on Friday. You will receive a message (Phone and e-mail) at 6:00pm stating that “Report Cards are Ready to Review”. Direct links to PowerSchool and Curriculum Standards will be provided in this information. Please be sure you have your PowerSchool logins and passwords ready. If you can’t remember your information, you can click the “Having trouble signing in” link and an email with your information will be sent right to you. If you still have trouble, please contact our office at 662-8800
What you see on the report cards should mirror what you talked about during the recent conferences. If at any time you have a question, please contact the teacher more sooner than later.
Writing Workshop
Last year we adopted a Writing Curriculum from Lucy Calkins. A small group of teachers piloted this series of writing and helped to make it even better. This year our entire school is following the Lucy Calkins Writing Workshop and I am AMAZED at the level of writing I am seeing and the excitement kids have for writing. Our teachers have been working hard to implement this program to fidelity because they see the growth in our students. CLICK HERE to read a parent letter in regards to the writing adoption from our teaching and learning department.
Thank you for your continued partnership! Bay Harbor is a special place to be at.

Family Movie Night - Friday, December 4th 6:30 pm, Bay Harbor Gym
Attention all Bay Harbor Sailors! Family Movie Night is quickly approaching. We need your help to pick a movie to show that night! In the Take Home Envelopes today will be a green sheet that lists all of the movies that can be voted on. The movie with the most votes will be shown! All Bay Harbor students are encouraged to vote. These are the movie choices: Wall-E, Finding Nemo, Toy Story, Cars, Charlotte's Web and Jungle Book. All movies are rated "G". Popcorn, drinks and candy will be available for purchase. Bring your blanket and pillows and get ready to have a fun night with your friends and family. To give us a "real movie theater" experience, we need all sailors to remain seated during the movie. Remember to place your vote and return the green sheet to school by Friday, November 20th. We look forward to finding out what movie we will all be watching!
Thank you and hope to see you there!
Special Note: If you happen to have any leftover Halloween candy that you can donate to this event, it would be very much appreciated!

Greetings Sailor Families- Our year is well under way and students are diving into Lifeskills with smiles, hopeful hearts, and inquisitive minds. I love spending time with your students in their classrooms. My favorite part is just being in the classroom to build relationships. I only see them every 2 weeks, so every visit gives me an opportunity to get to know someone a little bit more. I love to watch them learn, grow, and share their thoughts and feelings with their classmates. October was primarily focused on learning about spreading the ripple of kindness and self-esteem. Please ask your child what it means to “spread the ripple” to others. Students identified their own feelings to a great book called, Each Kindness. We also did a social experiment regarding how often students feel like the “ripple” is spread to them and that the challenge before them is to reach out to other kids who may not get a lot of kindness shown to them, whether at home or at school. Please click here to check out the YouTube video, “Color the World With Kindness” - the kids loved it! “Spreading the Ripple” of kindness directly relates to and effects your child’s self-esteem. Students were able to identify what they love about who they are. They also did an amazing job embracing the fact that we are all different people with different strengths who can teach one another and learn from each other. Most importantly, students learned that the best way to improve their self-esteem is by doing kind things for others, which makes them feel good about who they are. As always, please do not hesitate to reach out to me with questions and/or concerns regarding how I may be able to help your child. The school/home partnership always leads to greater success! Please email me at [email protected] or call me at (920) 662-8805. ******************************** Bay Harbor Playground Expansion Project This QR code will take you directly to our “Go Fund Me” page - or Click here. Students are able to purchase small items that cost between .25 cents to $1.00 such as pencils, erasers, highlighters, small toys, key chains, bouncy balls, etc. after they finish lunch. The kids get excited to shop and find something for the amount of money they were allowed to bring in and spend. We need volunteers to help at the store. You can sign up for a particular week or all of them. The time frame is from 11:15 -1:00. Please click here for more information and to sign up. Proceeds from sales go to our Student Council. Thank you! Mrs. VanEnkevort and Ms. Gantz - Student Council Advisors Punt, Pass & Kick Results
On October 25th, six Bay Harbor students had the opportunity to compete against other students from around North East Wisconsin in the Sectional Level Punt, Pass and Kick competition held at New London Middle School. Congratulations to Beckett for finishing in 1st place for the 6/7 year old Boys category and to Aliyah for her 2nd place finish in the 8/9 year old girls category! Fall Fest Winners of the "Extra Phy Ed Class"
Students whose winning ticket was drawn at the Fall Fest for the “Extra Physical Education Class” had the opportunity to claim their winnings. On Wednesday, November 4th these students were invited to the gym for 30 minutes of fun and activity with Mr. Vanden Hoogen! It was a great way to continue to stay active and support the Fall Fest. Mrs. Brandt's students had fun showing what they learned by creating paper bag hats that told about their books!
Student Directories have now been published! You can purchase one anytime. The directory is your source for student and family contact information that you can use to contact friends and classmates of your child(ren) and to network with families. The cost of the directory is $2.00 each with the proceeds going to our Student Council. Please make any checks payable to Bay Harbor. The directories will be sent home with your child. You can also stop by the office to purchase one.
Thank you! Label Your Child's Outerwear!
Although it has been a wonderful fall, winter is coming soon! Please remember to put your child's name on their snow pants, coats, hats, boots and jackets. Do you know how many black snow pants there are? This will help us to locate the rightly owner of any lost clothing. Thank you!
