A Message from Mr. Ebeling,
School Safety
The safety of our students is our number one priority. In addition to keeping all doors locked around the school, funneling all visitors through the main office, we now have cameras in every entrance, all hallways, and around the outside of the school. To be proactive, we have been trained and talk about ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate). We have plans in place for situations that may arise, but pray nothing ever does. In the upcoming weeks we will be doing a couple of “drills”: Tornado and Lockdown. In addition to the monthly fire drill, we also do drills in these areas. CLICK HERE to read a letter from me which includes more information in regards to school safety.
Class Lists
It is that time of year when parents start to think about “next year” and who the next teacher will be. I wanted to update you all on the class list process that we will again use at Bay Harbor. Our ultimate goal is to put each student in his or her best learning/emotional atmosphere. A LOT goes into making this happen and a lot changes from year to year. As we make up a class list, we utilize multiple academic data points, student learning styles, peer relationships, leadership abilities, current teacher feedback and gender equity. Each year we receive “teacher” requests from parents which I cannot honor. My staff work very hard to put your children in the best situations possible and I will the teachers make those decisions. In the event you want to provide specific feedback regarding your child’s strengths, weaknesses or any other beneficial information, please do so. You may CLICK HERE to print the form and return to the office, or you may come to the office to pick up a form.
