The school year is now off to a great start and Lifeskills classes are underway! I absolutely LOVE being able to visit each classroom every 2 weeks to spend time with our students. All of our BH kiddos have been learning what it means to be a Bucket Filler. These charming books explain to children how being kind not only helps others, it helps them, too. It is organized around a simple metaphor of a dipper and a bucket, it shows how even the briefest interactions can profoundly affect those around us. Students were able to practice this concept through books, activity sorts, T-charts, and videos. You can also extend this lesson into your home and use this concept when discussing behavior or choices with your child. For example, “When you yelled at your sister were you being a bucket filler or a bucket dipper? How can we make her feel better and fill her bucket?” or “When you cleaned your room last night you really filled my bucket!” The kids really enjoy the concept and it will be our theme for spreading kindness throughout the year! Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns about your student, I am happy to help! I am best reached through email at [email protected] written by Becky Wright, K-4 Counselor Sailor Pride Ticket Drawing Winners "Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be a Leader" This weeks students whose Sailor Pride Ticket was drawn are: Jacque, Rowyn, Olivia, Easton, Ci Ci, Megan, Cameron, Avery, Alyvia, and Mia Bay Harbor PTO |
