A Message from Mr. Ebeling
Hello Sailor Families,
Today we kicked off our BEAR Reading Rewards program! BEAR stands for, Be Everyday, Active Readers! Similar to last year, your student will be bringing home a parent letter and Reading Rewards packet in the Wednesday Take Home Envelope today. Participation in this program allows our school to “purchase” current events reading materials for our students such as Scholastic News and Time for Kids. These magazine are grade-level specific, and without participating in this program we would not be able to provide these publications to our students. Last year, each classroom was given $250 for these materials because of your AWESOME participation. Remember, NO PURCHASE necessary! Just fill out the booklets with 7-10 names and addresses. These names and addresses WILL NOT be used for anything other than getting sent the postcard.
So, please take a minute to read over the materials that were sent home today, students can turn in completed postcard booklets and family magazine orders starting tomorrow! Families can also buy or re-new magazine subscriptions and our school will receive EXTRA credit for subscriptions ordered. All materials are due by Thursday, March 19, 2015.
For students who participate, they will be receiving a lanyard and bear for postcard booklets and an additional bear for each family magazine ordered. The kids are always excited about this part.
Thank you for your continued partnership,
Tony Ebeling, Principal
